Am i getting bored of programming
Just a recap of last year: I didn’t write many blogs. I started working at a startup, and currently things are going well. The work–life balance is good, and I’m encountering some complex problems. However, since I’ve been learning and doing programming for the last 5–6 years, I’m at a point where programming itself sometimes feels boring.
Most of the time, I already know what changes I need to make to complete a task. Because these are often repeated tasks, I tend to become lazy about doing them.
Things I still like
- If it’s a new feature that is separate from basic CRUD operations, I enjoy working on it. Otherwise, I prefer having a junior developer handle smaller and repetitive tasks.
- Researching and implementing new features in an application, including creating POCs.
- Debugging bugs that are difficult to hunt down.
- Making architecture-level improvements to the codebase.
- Tinkering with things.
- Breaking down requirements, gathering clarity, and having a complete picture of what’s going on.
What i think is happening
I have been programming for around 6 years, with about 2.5 years of professional experience and an additional 9 months as an intern. I’ve realized that I have already implemented many basic features multiple times across both frontend and backend, using various technologies.
I am not a DSA-focused person, but I understand the fundamentals of programming and learn things as and when required. I can convert business logic into if–else conditions and build working solutions.
I have worked in backend, frontend, Web3, IoT, and DevOps. Essentially, I am a full-stack developer. However, at this point, I feel like I want someone else to handle repetitive tasks for me—such as implementing validations or creating standard UI from Figma—even when the tasks are not new.
What AI & other people have to say about it
Yes i am asking AI to get a summarized view & also search web why this is happening and do other people have same problem. The think is as i am growing and upgrading slowly i will start to give repetitive task to other people and use AI instead of doing it myself. Using AI along with programming is so much help for me. It just that i am upgrading over time,
